Baseball research group opens office in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) ? A baseball research group has moved its office from Cleveland to Phoenix.

The Arizona Republic reports that (http://bit.ly/veD9B2 ) the Society for American Baseball Research relocated its office during April in the Arcadia area of Phoenix.

The society is planning to hold its first analytics conference March 15-17 in Mesa to take advantage of baseball executives who will be in metropolitan Phoenix for spring training.

The group has more than 50 chapters in the United States and Canada.
